Specialist support
Anthony Rotondo
If I’ve got a problem with my heating I get a plumber in – it’s the same with financial advice; you need a specialist who can look after it for you.
They’re streets ahead of any of the other financial advisers I’ve worked with in the past. What reassures me about them most is their knowledge.
I’d been living in Spain, and came back to Swansea in 2012. I already had investments with an adviser in London, but asked them if they could recommend a financial adviser in the Swansea area because I wanted to work with someone local.
I was given a couple of names and Estate Capital were the first people I phoned up, but I was so taken with their initial approach that I didn’t speak to anyone else. I felt very confident as soon as I started talking to them. They offered me an appointment the next day and it just felt right.
What made me feel confident about them was that I was never left wanting more information - everything was given to me immediately and even things I hadn’t asked for were explained.
They’re streets ahead of any of the other financial advisers I’ve worked with in the past. I’ve actually had two different advisers, both well established, but neither of them compare to Estate Capital.
What reassures me about them most is their knowledge – they don’t have to refer to anything in order to answer my questions. Chris and Liam are always there for you at other end of phone.
They’re also proactive in getting in touch - where there have been severe fluctuations in the market, Chris has always phoned me. That means instead of you worrying, your mind is instantly put at ease because Chris has always got a solution.
What I also love is the flexibility of the investments. You’re not tied into anything for a period of time. You can rebalance every 6 months and can change your risk approach. You can be super cautious or wild and outrageous! Even if you were being wild and outrageous, you’ve only got 6 months to worry about it before you get the chance to come back to normality.
I’d never had that option before and it really appealed to me because I like to dabble in things and try things out. Although now I’m 65 I want to be a little more cautious.
Their risk factors are between 1 and 10 and it’s all explained to you very carefully in your meeting. With Estate Capital you can be cautious and safe, but still get a better return than you would if you put it in the Post Office.
Very recently I sold a property in London and I wanted to invest all the money in my portfolio – normally there’s a percentage charge for advice and set up. I asked Chris could he reduce the amount and he immediately did, due to the fact I was an existing investor increasing my holdings. It was something he didn’t have to do, but it meant a lot to me and I was really touched.
It’s a very personal service you get. They’ll advise you as best they can, but they can’t make your mind up for you. So you feel fully informed but in control.
When you look at the charges and your returns it’s worth every penny for the peace of mind. If anyone asked me I would recommend them absolutely.

Chris never pushes you in any particular direction. You end up making the decisions yourself, but doing it based on real numbers for each option.
